Traffic survival school (TSS) is a class mandated (not optional) by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (MVD/ADOT). It is designed for individuals who have accumulated 8 or more points on their driver’s license within a 12 month period. All certified schools are contracted with the Arizona Chapter National Safety Council (ACNSC) to follow the guidelines of the MVD/ADOT. TSS is designed to improve motorists’ attitudes towards safe driving.
Each time you are convicted or forfeit bail for a moving traffic violation, points are assessed against your driving record. If you accumulate eight or more points in any 12-month period, you may be required to attend Traffic Survival School (TSS), or your driving privilege may be suspended for up to 12 months.
All convictions for red-light running, flashing red-light running, aggressive driving, reckless driving, moving violations resulting in death or serious injury and the first moving violation for drivers who are under 18 years of age require successful completion of Traffic Survival School following assignment.

No. Defensive Driving School is for individuals who received a ticket and wish to attend a class to avoid paying for and the points associated with the violation. Traffic survival School is for individuals who have already been convicted and assessed points and now received a letter from Arizona Chapter National Safety Council (ACNSC)/ADOT Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) mandating a Traffic Survival School Class. We do not offer Defensive Driving. (Yet)

Absolutely! Give us a call, or send us an email to info@creativewerks.com

Once the instructor hits the timer to end the class, you not only receive a Certificate of Completion (COC) but your completion is fed into the MVD system and onto your driving record.

YOU MAY NOT TAKE AN ONLINE COURSE WITHOUT A WAIVER
You may return to Arizona to take an in-person 8-hour traffic survival course, or you can request a one-time waiver to take the TSS course virtually.
In your request for a waiver, you must demonstrate that completing the traffic survival course in person would impose a substantial burden to you per Title 28-3413. Your request must also include your full name, date of birth and traffic survival case number or withdrawal number.
You may submit your request for a waiver by sending an email to customercare@acnsc.org
If your waiver is approved, you will be provided with additional instructions on how to register for a virtual traffic survival course with a licensed TSS provider.
If you have any additional questions, please email customercare@acnsc.org or call us at 602-222-3381 or 800-840-7563.
Typical reasons for a waiver: live out of state, no transportation, license suspension, caregiver, medical reason and etc. It can take up to five business days to obtain a waiver so please allow ample time. A workbook is required as well [we mail workbooks priority mail (overnight if needed) for an additional expense]. The virtual class is held through Zoom so a computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera and microphone (with ample internet access) is required as well.
